What order do you recommend for the tour?
You can inquire about the itinerary “Kyoto Hotel → Uji → Nara → Osaka Hotel.” In Uji, the focus will be on the area around Byōdō-in Temple and a stroll along the main approach; in Nara, the focus will be on Tōdai-ji Temple or Nara Park. This is a suggested itinerary for discussion; the actual order may be adjusted based on hotel locations, opening hours, traffic conditions, and parking availability.
If you want to spend the morning exploring Kyoto’s attractions in depth—such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Arashiyama—and also visit Uji and Nara, you’ll likely end up cutting short your time at each location. We recommend limiting your itinerary for the day to just the two main areas of Uji and Nara, or choosing one of them, so you’ll have time for lunch and check-in.
Can I leave my luggage in the car the whole time?
For private chartered vehicles, you can request in advance to have your luggage transported in the vehicle and unloaded at your hotel in Osaka upon arrival. When making a reservation, you must specify the size and number of suitcases to avoid a situation where the vehicle is fully booked but there is no room for your luggage. Please keep your passport, cash, medications, and valuables with you at all times; take them with you whenever you leave the vehicle after it has parked. Do not assume that storing items in the vehicle constitutes a secure storage service for valuables.
Is 10 hours enough?
You should first confirm the timing rules for the trip from boarding in Kyoto to disembarking in Osaka before deciding on your itinerary. Don’t just add up the travel time between attractions: picking you up at the hotel, loading and unloading luggage, finding a parking spot, walking after parking, lunch, restroom breaks, and traffic jams all take time. When making a reservation, specify “what time you’d like to arrive in Osaka”—this is usually more helpful for planning than simply packing in as many attractions as possible.
Walking with Seniors: How Can We Reduce the Distance Walked?
Narrow down your sightseeing goals for each area: In Uji, you can choose between the area around Byodo-in Temple or the Tea Street; in Nara, you can choose between Todai-ji Temple or the park area. The driver will arrange pick-up and drop-off points based on permitted stops, but the vehicle cannot enter all pedestrian-only areas. One-way transfers primarily address transportation between two points, while intercity sightseeing charter services also include stops for sightseeing and scheduled waiting times. Do not place a transfer order simply for “Kyoto to Osaka”; instead, request additional stops in Uji and Nara.
